A leader in Medical Laboratory Diagnostic automation equipment reached out to BizLink elocab as they were experiencing "bowing" or "sagging" that affected the operating arm assembly, causing it to rub on the equipment while in motion; this caused premature failures in the cable assemblies, equipment downtime and in-field repair requests. Assessment/Evaluation
Over several months, elocab engineers met with the customer to review the dimensional and bowing/sagging issues. After seeing the application in motion, the engineering team resolved the problems by redesigning the cable to be smaller in width to fit correctly around internal components. This solution also fixed the bowing with the new design by properly holding the proprietary support member to give the cable the most outstanding support without using a bulky track.
